penalty, one of four he received

on the day.

The Panthers took a 35–7

lead in the game, but the Giants

stormed back. Some were

surprised that Beckham was not

kicked out of the game. He was

called “out of control” by Fox

broadcaster Joe Buck. But

Beckham was allowed to keep

playing. In fact, he later caught a

game-tying touchdown in the

fourth quarter. The Panthers,

though, did pull out the win.

Beckham was suspended

one game for the incident, and

he missed the Giants’ Week 16

game against the Minnesota

Vikings. It was the second time

that season that Beckham was

punished for actions he took

during a game. In Week 4,

Beckham was fined $9,000

after players on the Buffalo Bills

alleged that he threw punches

multiple times during the game.

Beckham appealed the

suspension but lost, later posting

an apology on Twitter and

through a team statement: “A lot

of kids look up to me as a role

model. That is a responsibility I

accept and take seriously. Many

of the parents of those kids have
